WHAT IS HOLISTIC PULSING?
Holistic Pulsing is based on two fundamental principles of life - Rhythm and Water.

During a Holistic Pulsing session, the practitioner applies a series of gentle rocking motions and stretches to various parts of the body. The rocking rate is close to the foetal heart beat rate. This is significant because it induces a safe and nurturing environment, which we are all familiar with from our beginnings.

As we are comprised of about 80% water, the rocking rhythm of Holistic Pulsing possesses a fluid like quality which sends ‘ripples’ throughout the whole body. This ongoing movement has a soothing action on the nervous system making Holistic Pulsing a deeply relaxing treatment as it melts away stress and tension.

This soothing action on the nervous system is significant because it activates your relaxation response and it is in this relaxed state that the body’s healing and repair mechanisms are set in motion.

HOLISTIC PULSING AND PERSONAL GROWTH
Whilst Holistic Pulsing provides many benefits as a bodywork treatment, it is also a profound system of healing and a vehicle for those seeking self discovery and transformation.

During the Holistic Pulsing session, blockages are detected as the areas where there is little or no movement. The practitioner uses these cues to provide treatments that gently dissolve the blockages as the rocking rhythm awakens the tissues own inherent capacity to move and flow.

Holistic Pulsing sessions will gently familiarise you with your entire body and its specific patterns. As you connect to your mental processes, your body-mind can integrate old emotional patterns that have been embedded in tissue up to this point.

Holistic Pulsing helps empower you through awareness and self acceptance. As we explore and become familiar with your patterns, it will enable you to clearly see what really is, at this moment. You will learn to communicate with your body’s unique language. Through Holistic Pulsing sessions we can work with your body’s incredible wisdom and make positive use of this in your life.

Note: During a holistic pulsing session you lie on a specially made table, similar to a massage table. It is best to wear loose, comfortable clothing during a session.

I came across Holistic Pulsing twenty years ago when I attended an album launch in Sydney and was talking to the musician’s girlfriend, who was a Holistic Pulsing practitioner. Soon after I had a session with her and I loved it!

Holistic Pulsing was developed by Dr Tovi Browning and I am fortunate enough to be one of a handful of people in Australia who trained to Diploma level with Dr Browning.

In both my private practice and within the community, I have been able to help many people. I have worked with community health centres, mothers groups, the Alzheimer’s Association, AIDS Council, hospitals and the elderly. Having now re-established my Holistic Pulsing and Wellbeing practice, I shall also recommence teaching Holistic Pulsing for both professional and home use.

I am also an early childhood and primary school teacher. I love teaching children and wish to incorporate my knowledge and experience with children in my Holistic Pulsing and Wellbeing practice. I have an interest in helping sensitive children develop a strong sense of self and to equip them with age appropriate strategies and personal resources that will develop their resilience and help them excel while protecting their sensitive nature and learning to appreciate it as a gift and a strength (not a weakness) that can help them throughout life. Please talk to me if you have a sensitive or anxious child as I would be happy to offer some suggestions and guidance.

As an example, I just had some remarkable success using Holistic Pulsing with my 7 year old son, who has been anxious about going back to school. Just five minutes on the table in the morning before school, along with some active listening and coaching, completely turned his day around.

I live with my husband, our two young children and chocolate Labrador on the beautiful mid north coast of New South Wales. I use Holistic Pulsing at home with my children and my husband. My kids will jump on the table and ask to be pulsed then take off again when they’ve had enough. Children tend to get what they need quickly. It is a unique way to create a special closeness and we’ve incorporated Holistic Pulsing with the kids into their night time routine. Such a beautiful way to get off to sleep.
